REBEL LIFE. living with white furniture.
by Kara V.

I am SUCH a rebel. I have white furniture. I know. I seriously feel kinda naughty having white stuff because I grew up thinking white stuff was a serious no-no. The only thing it can do is get dirty , right? WRONG. It can also make your room so bright and airy and fresh and beautiful. I know white furniture isn’t for everyone, but if you’re drawn to the look and need a push to go for it, here are a few tips that may help you take the leap…

  1. I recommend white couches or chairs with slipcovers. Every-so-often I throw my slipcovers in the wash to freshen them up, and get any stains or dirty-spots out. The white furniture DOES get dirty, just like they all do, but how awesome is it that you can WASH them??! And then they look and smell brand new! Ahhhh…
  1. In the meantime, between washes, you can always cover any dirty spots with a throw blanket . WATCH!…

See those dirty spots on the arm and cushion??⬆⬆⬆🤭

Ooop!😲Where’d it go??😜Magic…✨😉Throw blankets are my best friend. You can never have too many. Here are a few of my favorites from Amazon that are so cozy and reasonably priced:

  1. You can scrub the SNOT outa them! Okay, you know how if you’re spot cleaning something, you usually have to be careful not to scrub too hard to take the color out of it? Not the case with white furniture.🙅‍♀️You can scrub scrub scrub until your heart is content. I have a new favorite cleaning product for my light colored furniture. It’s called FOLEX and it’s amazing! It’s technically called a carpet spot remover, but I use it on my furniture upholstery all the time. It removes eeeeverything and all you need is a damp cloth to rub on the stain and it’s gone! Before I had Folex, I just sprayed Shout on it to spot clean – is that crazy? But that also worked well!

And there you have it! Three tips to make having white furniture NOT so scary! Basically, you have to just not stress, too. I drink my coffee (and have spilled a few times!),🙄eat snacks, and snuggle my (dirty) kids😜ALL while having bright pretty furniture that I love.🤗🤩

Any questions? I hope this helps, for anyone who might be considering white (or light) colored furniture.😘

Have a great day! XO!

Real cedar garland on pendant lights
By Kara V. January 30, 2023
I’ve never bought real garland before but found it at Lowes. It’s also sold at Home Depot, Costco, grocery stores, and other places too, I’m sure. Considering that you get 20 feet of it, I feel like it’s not a bad price!
