Caramel Apple Bar Party Tips and Ideas

I know, I know. I already posted about caramel apples here . In that post I said I’ve never made caramel apples before, which was true, but I HAVE made a caramel apple BAR before — multiple times, actually, using apple SLICES. It makes for such an easy and festive fall party! So, let’s pretend like we’re having a party, okay? What do we need?

  • Candy corn? ☑
  • Apple cider? ☑
  • Cute festive straws? ☑
  • Pretty fall flowers? ☑
  • Green Granny Smith apples, of course! ☑

I only like green apples with caramel. Too sour for me! Do you eat ’em plain?😝Anyway, just stick them on skewers and…

TIP: Spritz them with Sprite instead of lemon juice (you probably know that trick to keep them from turning yellow, right?) My kids can sense when they have lemon juice on them, and then don’t eat ’em.🙄Sprite has the same effect to keep them from getting yucky, and doesn’t add more sour-ness. Who knew?! I did!🙋‍♀️And that’s why I’m telling you! haha.😂

  • Caramel ☑

For this party, I just bought pre-made caramel and heated it up a bit. No need to make things hard!

Fun fact: These crescent shaped dishes are antiques that I got from my Grandma, and they’re called “bone dishes.” They nestled closely to your dinner plate to store annoying bones away from the edible things. It also could have been used for a small salad or as a bread plate. Cool, huh? I really wanted to use them so I decided they’d be perfect for this party (way back in 2016)!🥳

 Topping Ideas:

  • Chopped peanuts
  • Marshmallows
  • Graham cracker crumbs
  • Chocolate chips
  • Butterscotch chips
  • White chocolate chips
  • English toffee bits
  • Crushed Oreos
  • Pretzels
  • M&Ms
  • (Basically, raid your pantry)😉

That’s all you need for this party! It really is an easy and inexpensive way to host a party! Have your guests load up a plate — grab a skewer, dip it in caramel, dip in the topping of your choice, grab another, do it again, and again, and ENJOY! So easy and so good!

Ahhh guys! I was about to be done with this post but I just found pictures from another time I had a Caramel Apple Bar!🤗A few years ago I hosted a girls night (friends, do you remember this??) It was so fun!

This time, I let people skewer the apples themselves, pour the caramel over and sprinkle the toppings over top. There’s so many ways to do it! P.S. I think these pictures are from the aftermath of the party. Where’d the apples go?😋

If anyone wants to use the same sign I made, here it is! Just print it out and pop it in an 8×10 frame (you’ll have to crop it a bit).🙂

Okay, now go plan a party! I hope you feel inspired! Fall is just the BEST! XO!

Real cedar garland on pendant lights
By Kara V. January 30, 2023
I’ve never bought real garland before but found it at Lowes. It’s also sold at Home Depot, Costco, grocery stores, and other places too, I’m sure. Considering that you get 20 feet of it, I feel like it’s not a bad price!
